MOTHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

The children came together to celebrate and express their love and gratitude for their mothers. With heartfelt messages and kind gestures, they honored the care, patience, and love that mothers give every day. The celebration was a gentle reminder of the special bond and the joy mothers bring into our lives. 🌸

MOTHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

Mother’s day was observed in the school. All the lady staff were presented with gifts as a mark of respect and honour by our Secretary Sir and Principal Sir .

The program was hoisted by Miss Ipshita Ojha. Secretary Sir Mr. Vikram N Adams, addressed all the mothers with a motivational speech a word of prayer was offered for all the mothers by our Principal Rev. Mojesh Mohanty .

14th May

Drinking Water Shed Program 

The New Stewart School, Cuttack organized a “Jal Chhatra” Drinking Water Shed from 9:30-10:30 AM today. All Guides served cool drinking water to passersby and commuters, living the motto “Service Before Self.”

We were honoured to have Mrs. Ranjita Pradhan Madam, District Guider, Kaji Bazar High School, whose presence and guidance greatly inspired our students.

The activity built teamwork, leadership, and the spirit of selfless service. Thanks to all who made it a success.

11 th May
E flyer and power point presentation
Students learnt to design e flyers and make power point presentation during the summer camp from our mentor Mr Somdutta Rao and Mrs Jayshree Das.

The learning by doing method will surely make them self reliant and boost their confidence and eradicate the fear of using computers in their daily lives.

Day 5 – 🌞 Summer Camp 2026 | Scout & Guide Training Class

The Scouts & Guides of were engaged in a hands-on _knotting session_alog with scarf folding today. They learnt essential scout knots and the use of it , practical applications in daily life and camps.

Outcome: Students developed fine motor skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities while understanding that a Scout/Guide is prepared for any situation. The class was focused, fun, and full of learning by doing.

8 th May
Art and SUPW activities
Our school summer activity camp was filled with creativity and joy. Students were happily engaged in art and craft, painting beautiful flowers and leaves with bright colours.
Teachers guided them and encouraging them at every step, making learning fun and interactive. The classroom atmosphere was filled with teamwork, excitement, and imagination.
Such activities helped children to develop creativity, confidence, and fine motor skills.
It is truly wonderful to see students learning through fun during their summer holidays.

Day 4 – 🌞 Summer Camp 2026 | Scout & Guide Training Class

On Day 4 Scouts and Guides learnt the Flag Procedure, concept of Good Turn & Swasthan, the meaning & significance of the National Flag, Bharat Scout/Guide Flag, World Scout Flag, and World Guide Flag.

Outcome: Students now understood flag etiquette, the symbolism of each flag, and the value of daily good deeds, strengthening their respect for the nation and the movement.

6th May(Day 3 of summer camp)
Bright & Joyful
​Painting our summer with every color of the rainbow! 🌈 Day 3 was filled with bright smiles and even brighter artwork from our Grade 1 & 2 stars.

Day 3 – 🌞 Summer Camp 2026 | Scout & Guide Training Class

The third day of Summer Camp 2026 at New Stewart School, Cuttack began with energy and enthusiasm.

All Scouts and Guides performed Lord Baden-Powell’s BP 6 Exercises and learnt the health benefits of each exercise, making it a refreshing morning routine.

The second session was an interactive theory class on Uniform and Badges, where students understood the correct way of wearing the uniform, the meaning of each part, and the significance of proficiency badges.

The day reflected true scouting spirit — fitness, discipline, and learning

Summer camp, Day -2
5 th May
Event Management Session

A session on Event Management was conducted on 5th May 2026 as part of the Summer Camp activities. The session highlighted event management as the systematic planning and execution of events. Key processes discussed included planning, budgeting, organizing, and evaluation. Participants also learned about the roles of event managers, coordinators, and vendors, along with different types of guests such as VIPs, chief guests, and invitees.

Zumba and Aerobics

Children enjoyed the Zumba and Aerobics session. Children enjoyed the session with lot of enthusiasm and energy.

Indoor games
Chess and Ludo
Children enjoyed chess and ludo with their peers. They had a good time with friends and were engaged in the activity.

Day 2 – Summer🔆 Camp 2026 | Scout & Guide Theory Class

It was an interactive theory class where students learnt the history of scouting, memorized the prayer song, flag song, and national anthem. They also understood the Scout & Guide Law, Motto, Promise, and the significance of the Scout Salute, Scout Sign, and Left Hand Shake.

The session was engaging and helped develop the right mindset among the young scouts and guides.

We had included many indoor games like carrom, chess and ludo. Children enjoyed it with their peers.

15th May
Workshop on “Content cum Pedagogy in Effective Classroom Teaching-Learning”

A workshop on “Content cum Pedagogy in Effective Classroom Teaching-Learning” was organized on 15th May 2026 at New Stewart School, Cuttack. The session aimed at enhancing the teaching skills and classroom practices of educators through effective pedagogical approaches.
The workshop was conducted by the esteemed resource person, Dr. Mrs. Rashmi Rekha Senapati, Secretary, Diocesan Board of Education, who shared valuable insights on modern teaching strategies, learner-centered education, classroom engagement, and effective content delivery.
Her presentation highlighted the importance of interactive learning, innovative teaching methods, and the role of teachers in creating a positive learning environment.
Teachers actively participated in the session and gained practical ideas to improve classroom teaching-learning processes. The workshop proved to be highly informative, enriching, and beneficial for all the participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Sulata Behera, our Staff representative expressing gratitude to the resource person and the management for organizing such a meaningful and inspiring workshop.
The program was hosted by Mrs. Sumitra Panda, coordinator in charge of New Stewart school.

14th May
Workshop on Lesson Plan Management

A workshop was conducted by Principal sir,Rev Mojesh Mohanty to enhance the teaching skills and classroom strategies of educators. The session focused on the importance of well-structured lesson plans in achieving effective learning outcomes and maintaining student engagement.
Teachers were guided on setting learning objectives, selecting suitable teaching methods, incorporating activities, and designing assessments.
The workshop also encouraged interactive discussions and sharing of innovative classroom practices among the participants.
It proved to be an enriching and informative session that strengthened the professional development of the teaching staff.
The program was hoisted by Mrs. T. Sunita.

13th May
Workshop on Child Rights Protection
A workshop was conducted for all the staff of New Stewart School by our Resource person Mrs Mercy Rout, Secretary of Diocesan Women’s fellowship for Christian Service under the Diocese of Cuttack, CNI and the CPO of New Stewart school.

She spoke on the importance of supervision and care by parents and teachers at home as well as school, to avoid physical punishment, abuse or neglect our children. And the ways by which we can provide Emotional and Mental support, teach confidence and communication and listen to them when they speak to us. The workshop was an interactive one , all the staff members enjoyed the case study and the group discussion conducted there after.

The program was hoisted by Mrs. Shabnam Bahar.

12 th May
A Workshop on Effective Classroom Management
A workshop was conducted on Effective classroom management by our coordinator Mrs. Sumitra Panda.
She addressed on different strategies to be taken for different levels of students, primary, middle, secondary and senior secondary.
The pedagogical challenges teachers face in the classroom and how to over come them applying various ways and means, how to manage time and make it effective.

The workshop was hoisted by Mrs. Megha Agarwal .

11 th May
A Workshop was conducted on Mental Health Management for Staff titled Mindfull minutes, Powerful class rooms
.
We were blessed to have with us our resource person for the session Ms Sweta Das an alumni of XLRM, KIIT university , RIE, Bhubaneswar as well as Sri Sri University with a wide experience on mental health and conselling in various renowned corporate sectors.
She guided the teachers on the ways to manage stress and over come it through practising various methods of mindfull activities.
The session was very interactive and refreshing for all the teachers.

9th May
Workshop on Awareness on road safety
A workshop was conducted on creating Awareness on road safety by N Ramakrishna Raju, Network Manager ,Maruti Suzuki Driving school.He spoke on reskless driving, distracted driving and the consequences of distracted driving which proves to be fatal. He spoke on the use of preventive measures like use of seat belt etc and the responsibility of a good Samaritan by understanding the road signs..like mandatory and warning signs.
A google form was shared to test the understanding of the teachers.
The program was hoisted by Mrs Ureka Bihari.

8 th May
Workshop on POSCO Act

A workshop was conducted in the school premises by our resourse persons Adv Siddharth kumar Das and Adv Barsha Rani Sahoo to sensitise teachers on the mandatory reporting, false reporting, NCPCR and SCPCR.

The preventive measures we need to under take while dealing with cases related to POCSO issues in various places in the society.
It session was quite informative and created awareness among the teacher fraternit

7 th May
Workshop on Spoken English

New Stewart School under the guidance of the esteemed resource person, Rev. F. C. North conducted a workshop on spoken English.
The programme began with a prayer led by our respected Principal Sir, followed by the felicitation of the guest speaker.
He shared his valuable insights and experiences,on the four important skill to be used in teaching English.
He made the session highly enriching and inspiring for all the teachers.
The workshop concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Miss Siril Simon expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.

6 th May
Workshop on Tata edge classes.
A workshop was conducted for teachers by resource person, Mr. Tanmoy Banerjee, Academic Manager at Tata ClassEdge,on various usage of tools and technique of the updated version of Tata edge.
It was an insightful and engaging session. His guidance, through this refresher training, will help teachers to gain new perspectives and enhance their eaching practices.

The teachers actively participated with a lot of enthusiasm, which made this session lively and meaningful.

Workshop on First-Aid: Basic Life Support (BLS)
Organised by: Bharat Scout Troop & Guide Company, New Stewart School, Cuttack
The workshop aimed to equip students with life-saving skills and promote the Scout & Guide motto “Be Prepared.”

Resource Person
The session was conducted by Dr. Bipin Bihari Kar, who explained the fundamentals of BLS through live demonstrations. Key areas covered were:
1. Assessment of emergency situations – DRSABCD action plan.
2. CPR technique for adults and children with correct hand position, depth, and rate.
3. Choking management, recovery position, and use of first-aid kit.
4. Handling common school emergencies like fainting, nose bleeding, burns, and fractures using triangular bandages.
All Scouts and Guides of the school actively participated in both theory and practical sessions. The teaching staff also attended the workshop to ensure the knowledge reaches every classroom. Students practiced CPR on demo mannequins.

Outcome
1. Students gained confidence to respond calmly during medical emergencies.
2. The workshop strengthened practical skills required for Pratham Sopan, Dwitiya Sopan and Rajya Puraskar testing camps.
3. It reinforced the spirit of service and responsibility among young scouts and guides.

Drinking Water Shed Organised by New Stewart School, Cuttack

The Bharat Scout Troop and Guide Company of New Stewart School, Cuttack organised a Drinking Water Shed to help the public during the scorching summer heat.

With temperatures soaring, the enthusiastic scouts and guides set up the shed at a busy locality of Cuttack. They served cool, Curd water to pedestrians, rickshaw pullers, and daily commuters who were struggling in the heat.

All the Guides and Scouts participated wholeheartedly and felt happy to serve. Their small act of kindness brought great relief to local people and reflected the Scout motto “Be Prepared” and “Service to Others.”

The initiative was appreciated by the public and encouraged students to understand the joy of community service.

WORLD EARTH DAY

22 nd April
Earth Day was observed with great enthusiasm at New Stewart School to promote environmental awareness and responsibility. A plantation drive was organized within the school premises, symbolizing the commitment towards a greener future. The event was led by the Principal, Rev. Mojesh Mohanty, along with Coordinator Mrs. Sumitra Panda,
Academic Coordinator Mrs. Ava Biswal and
Staff representative Mrs Sulata Behera.
The activity was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Alok Prakash Sahoo.

The initiative encouraged students and staff to take an active role in protecting the environment and highlighted the importance of planting trees for a sustainable future.

An art competition was conducted at New Stewart School on the occasion of International Art Day on 15th April. Students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity through beautiful artworks and paintings.
The event encouraged artistic expression and made the celebration meaningful and memorable.
